Fights between cats and dogs are prohibited.

It is a misdemeanor to urinate or defecate publicly.

Women must have their bodies covered by at least 16 yards of cloth at all times.

It is illegal to drive cars through city cemeteries for pleasure.

No one may visit their departed loved ones late at night.

Cars may not be driven on sidewalks.

It is illegal to throw rocks at a city street.

No person shall spit on a city street.

There is to be no rollerblading during daylight hours, on the roads, or on the bricks.

You must stop and call City Hall before entering town in an automobile.

Restaurants “with on sidewalk dining” must post their menu so that it is clearly readable from the sidewalk, but is not readable from the street.

You may not ride a bicycle without having both your hands on the handle bars.

It is required that you must pay a property tax on your dog.

It is against the law to rollerblade on a state highway.

It is illegal to stand outside the police station for any purpose after dark.

No person may walk on top of the water tank of the city.

Thats a normal commonplace ordinance everywhere, as is the one against driving on the sidewalk.
Dont see why those belong on the list.

We do the old doggy do in the burning bag trick around her in the mid atlantic states, but not THAT.

Oh.. so you're saying that only a Tarheel would be crazy enough to even think of hitching a plow to an elephant- thus only in North Carolina would they have to legislate to stem the rising tide of elephantilling (to coin a word). Might be. They use elephants for logging in India, but Ive never heard of even even Indians using elephants to pull plows.

My neighboring state of Idaho, I understand, has some insane laws. For instance, a woman riding in a car with her shoes off can be arrested. And of course, oral sex is a crime against nature.

In the 1970's Virginia had something called "Blue Laws" which outlawed the sale of many products (including alcohol) on Sundays. I don't know when or if they ever repealed those laws. I think a lot of the original states here in the US have been around so long that a lot of weird obscure laws have built up over the years.
