Do you think it will be from now months, years, decades, October 23rd 2077 ( :P ), or never? Will nuclear war ever happen and how close would it be for when some idiotic or crazy leader launches their nukes and everyone else retaliates in kind MAD style or like hopeful philosophers think will it never happen and just remain a statist threat that they can burn civilians in a moment's notice using former taxpayers' money to cause mostly everyone in large cities to die at once and everyone in the country to deal with fallout and the cancer and sad birth defects caused thereby? What think ye everyone, ever or never? Sooner or later? For better or for worse, at least DC wouldn't have politicians infesting it anymore, but unlike Fallout 3 the effects of residual radiation are rather more dire and horrifying. Still, what is likely to happen and how long until North Korea or whoever starts the sadness for the world?

We may already be in ww3. World wars start small and build up. Ww2 started with annexing nations. No one thought it'd lead to s world war.

China is making aggressive moves in Asia which could lead to world war.

As for nukes it's. Ore worrisome that a terror group would get a nuke and use it. Once a nation fires a nuke it's lost all real effectiveness and they'll be dead too. No one knows how a war between nuclear powers will play out because their too afraid to do it. Probably just conventional war with a peace treat as the outcome. Won't be any topping of governments or sacking of capitals

As the war on terror is global, it is very possible that we already are in WWIII, but it's the kind of war we were never expecting.

World War 3 will be decided in a matter of days, who knows how many of us will be around to realize we've just endured another world war.

Well, it was actually talked about in Canadian Bacon a few years before it started, but it was a joke about how lame it would be or something like that.

Well, what the problem is with nuclear warfare is it only takes one spark to light up the world. Most rational people in power are too afraid to start the planet burning, but it only takes one crazy idiot to launch their nukes and then nobody needs a nightlight.

This very question just hit me between the eyes while watching the five am ,CNN news just now:Moscow just screamed at Washington that if America attacks the army of the Syrian government, or "attempts a decapitation attack on Bassir Assad" that there "will be consequences".

Cant help but to wonder: how long before the Syrian civil war becomes a war directly between the superpowers?

Neither side seems to be able to control who their bombs fall on. If we aim at ISIS and hit a Syrian Army regular by mistake...its WWIII!

It maybe Syria's civil war but it quickly dragged in indirect involvement from outside regional powers: Saudi Arabia, and Iran- and also quickly dragged in the global powers: The US/NATO, and Russia. Definitely remiscent of both the Spanish Civil War of Thirties that brought Franco to power (in which the opposing sides in Spain got aid from outside nations-nations that would later directly fight each other in WWII- the "teams" formed up in the Spanish Civil War), and of the crises that followed the murder of the Austrian archduke in Serbia in 1914- that got Austria and Serbia angry at each other- that got Russia in on the side of Serbia- and then Germany in on the side of Austria, and so on- leading directly to the first world war.

I agree that we are already in the early stages of WW3. I think 911 will be looked back upon as pivotal. We seem to continue in the march towards destruction. Putin has his eye on Empire. If Trump wins, Putin will play him like a fiddle. But either way, with Russia and North Korea spoiling for a fight and Syria in the mess that it is, it doesn't look good. I think we may see nuclear attacks in the next 20 years.

One man's opinion.

https://sputniknews.com/politics/201609 ... syria.html

Syrian Social Nationalist Party representative Tarek Ahmad says that the war in Syria has reached a dead end, with the intervention of foreign powers turning the situation into a chaotic mess. Moreover, the politician says that Syria is just one front in a Third World War being waged by Washington and its allies.

"The US's goal is not limited to Syria," the politician emphasized. "The Syrian front is not the goal in and of itself. We need to look at this issue objectively, and to admit that a Third World War is taking place in Syria, one which is led by the US and its allies – even if these allies are simultaneously victims as well."

With regard to the recently agreed-upon Russian-US ceasefire agreement, which is now looking less and less likely to be restored, the politician suggested that "Russia always understood that the US-Russian agreement on Syria would mean a US defeat in this conflict…if the agreement was adhered to."

well WW3 would basically be the US vs Russia or the US vs China

there has been a lot of sabre rattling these last few years towards Russia and if Hillary is elected then the chances of there being a confrontation of some sort becomes a lot more likely.

Only if those under them follow the order knowing it's crazy and will kill the. All for no reason other then their lead went nuts.
