Just to let you know, I’m one of them. But there’s no name for them. They’re sort of like punk but less intimidating and more friendly.

Traits:
1. They love bright colors.
2. They are either happy, fake happy or sad, never angry—or at least not in public.
3. They love unicorns, cats, Instagram and ironic T-shirts
4. They like blogs.
5. They like foreign things.

And their favorite kind of music is Mongolian style throat singing polka punk rock (the next big thing).

This topic makes me think. I never really considered what 'Daft Punk' meant.

Sounds like candy ravers to me.

Is that the name of a porn star? Or a stripper?

"Candy Ravers".

At least it was a term back in my day (1998-2001'ish) for people who dressed like this, wore kiddy bracelets, always had pacifiers in their mouths (ie. lived on e pills), and were always in the happy hardcore room or tent. And yeah, when an mc tries to flow over happy hardcore it sounds like electronic punk.

So many youth subcultures come and go. Hard for an oldster to keep track.

A subset of the Nineties rave scene. I remember hearing about "club kids" back in the 90's. They were kinda like that too.

[shrug]

Sure.

Why not revive the Candy Rave scene? and call yourself that.

I know what you mean about 2017 people liking extremely bright colours. It's like the 50s and 60s al over again.

Also I've noticed it's now acceptable for adults to talk about their favourite kids shows. In general 2017 adults act more childishly compared with past adults.

People are scared but they exude this false cheerfulness. It's just like in the 60s when people appeared to be cheerful but inwardly they were scared of being drafted or nuked.
