I've never seen the original, but I'd be very surprised if the remake did it any justice. Based on the premise, it does seem kind of weird that they'd remake it in this day and age. Then again, given the growing popularity of concealed carry, and all these people who think that they can be heroic badasses without any formal training just because they carry a gun everywhere... I can see why there'd be a market for this movie.

I might watch this movie just to see what's up with it. It's got Bruce Willis in it, so that's cool at least. I'm kind of expecting an overly polished, generic action film with way too much CGI, however.

It's a Death Wish movie.

Only people who are detached from reality are able to take anything about a Death Wish movie seriously.

These movies are very silly. Of course, the original novel was against vigilante violence, but the movies are ridiculous revenge porn and getting upset over something as silly as that is not worth the effort.

I'll admit, I like cheesy action movies, and I think revenge is a great theme for a movie too. While I enjoy movies that are down to Earth and realistic, I also enjoy movies that portray outlandish fantasy scenarios, and one of the classic fantasy scenarios is that of the one man army who kills all the bad guys and saves the girl, or gets back at the people who screwed him over, or whatever.

Some may argue otherwise, but I think it's good for people to have outlets like this.

What we really need is a remake of Death Wish 3. The goofiest movie of the bunch. And the most entertaining.
