Facebook Going Public Friday in Largest Tech IPO Ever - PC Mag.
Looks like the rich will get even richer on Friday. I wonder what it will be worth on the secondary market, or if FB will go the way of many other internet companies? I think it'll be interesting to see.

Who knows what could happen. Many speculate that Facebook could drop in popularity like other sites like MySpace, although I think that Facebook could stick around a bit longer because it has appealed to younger and older populations. Heck, even all my grandparents have Facebook. It's also pretty much become a massive, worldwide social data collection tool, which makes it appeal to advertisers (obviously). After saying it a million times, I still think it's pretty crazy just how big Facebook has gotten in a relatively short period of time. I remember the times in high school when all my friends made their own blogs and just posted on each others' sites, or spent time in chat rooms, or (gasp!) actually called or talked to people face to face. Facebook definitely has its uses, however, even for an aspie, I prefer talking to people face to face rather than to Facebook entities (which is what I like to call people whom I know that I predominantly communicate via Facebook lol). It seems that, from my experiences, once someone creates a Facebook account it's very difficult for (most) to delete their accounts/stay off Facebook. It could possibly be because of some kind of a herd mentality, that if everyone they know is on Facebook, they also want to be on, stay connected with people, and know what other social events might also be happening in their social circles. I actually know people who have sent their wedding announcements via Facebook (my dad and stepmom, of all people lol), along with a couple emails to others who didn't have it. I don't know where Facebook will be in a few years, but it still seems like it's putting up a pretty good fight. I don't know if I personally would invest in it, but I guess we'll see.
