that is the danger of SOPA which was intended to stop people from using copy righted material as there own.it opens the door for prosecution of any false material and being that facebook makes its money on advertising,knowing your true wants and likes helps them send the right advertisments your way.i have have friend in his late thirties in western massachusetts who tells facebook he is 76 living in vienna.so all his pop up adds are relevent to an older person in central europe.

so would facebook delete accounts or even prosecute people who give false info for privacy purposes?

I'm on facebook but I don't live on it like some do.

I nuked my two FB pages about a year ago.

FB is one BS session after another. My SILs page is WIDE open, and she posts everything on there. She is a SAHM, so it isn't riveting information.

My kids are perfect (pictures)
My husband is perfect (pictures)
I'm wonderful (more picture)

Fine. Whatever. The part that chapped my ass is when she would post pictures I sent her via email, and post them on her GD wall. I saw about dozen of my kid's pictures there. Those were privately sent and not for public consumption.

I said nothing because SIL is a brain dead moron of the nth degree. I know DD will probably post some stupid pictures on the social media sites of the future, but her online profile is nil for the moment.

I hate FB. I manage a FB business page for a client, and its a pain. The customers are younger than the people usually trolling through FB. I hate Twitter with idiots block tweeting and posting huge pictures. That is what Tumble, Instagram and Pheed are for. I love Pheed out of all of them.

This is not surprising, I yanked the plug on my FB account back in 2009 because it was irrelevant to my life anyways.

I concur. IMO, at some point in the future, Facebook will end up like My Space.

Ha there's a site on GTA 5 that parodies fb, it's called Life Invader. Not surprised either, anyone who is needs to wake up and realize they have to be more careful with what they put on the Internet.
