I remember when this happened. It was just before Christmas 1989, it got down to 7 degrees down here. Just a few days later, Nicolae Ceaucescu was overthrown and executed.

Put into power in Panama by George Herbert Walker Bush when he was CIA chief, only to be taken out of power, convicted, and sent to prison by George Herbert Walker Bush as American President. Noriega was a bad man, but I can't help but think his friends and patrons were jerking him around when he outlasted his usefulness.
