Kansas: People say that it's flat. But to me it seems to be going downhill.

I don't see how this would be inconsistent with Christianity.

I love how stupid this guy is, I covered evolution in middle school and not once since (not to mention we didnt cover the 2nd law of thermodynamics until my senior year of high school but thats another story altogether.) Personally I feel evolution is a pretty weak thing to learn as its one of the least proven concepts in science and people put so much weight into it because it goes against relegion, why not learn something about the elements first, or about physics, why worry so much about evolution.

So you mean to tell me that its one of the more proven things in science, care to tell me a less proven one??? Also dont you think its stupid that we learn evolution first thing in school but dont learn the peridic table or anything thats been reasonably proven earlier, not to mention at one point in time Bohrs model of the atom fit the scale perfectly.

it doesn't exactly go against religion... i mean sure the bible sez that god created earth in 7 days and blah blah whatever, but there are more ways than one to read the bible. it could have been a metaphore... maybe a simple way to explain the creation thingy to a bunch of stupid monkeys. (and besides the bible was written by these stupid monkeys, ancient, possibly delusional monkeys, which means teh bible is flawed) and bibles aside, god could have caused the big bang. god could have done it all exactly the way darwin said it happened.

but jeeze louise who cares? all this drivel about god belongs in religion, not science.

In a society where schools can throw away students bibles your afraid of a little relegion seeping into science (and if you dont believe me on that do a nice lil google search.)

I just saw some documentary about String theory which I believe is pretty new and still gathering evidence
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/String_Theory

But there are plenty of scientific theories that have not been proven or have been disproven, thats a silly question.

Exactly, this is a stupid debate that should have been settled 5 minutes after it started, thats why I'm so irked by it.

Tell your liberal buddies to stop it with the "Under God" debate and alot of the debating will be over with :).

why the hell should church be allowed to interfere with state? Its not everyone's faith. And has as much to do with science as I do with morris dancing.

LOL, I'd be all for that really... I find that to be equally as stupid and time-wasteful

Our country was founded by predominantly Christian people and our old texts and traditions happen to reflect that (or maybe it wasn't added until later or something, I don't really care). Not a big deal, they need to get over it.

Well Germany and France I believe both have laws banning wearing "blantently relegious materials in public" specifically going after the Muslim headscarf, if thats not a state interfering with church I dont know what is.
