That's real easy to say when you have a relationship and it's a sentiment often said by people who have relationships. You hardly if ever hear it from single people who desire relationships.

It's a sentiment of often seen from the haves on any issue or subject.

You just don't get it. Which is lucky for you.

Als again I don't base my entire happiness on it
But let me put it this way would you be happy with a car that only has two wheels and just drags on the other side?

i was single until i was 52. i was generally happy. your argument doesn't stand up. i was driving a fully functioning car. i just had no passenger. one of the worst times in my life was when i was engaged in the 80's. he hit me several times and threatened to kill me. sometimes single is better.

My point is without a SO my life is incomplete and as long as it's incomplete I'll never be happy. Nothing I do means anything without someone to share it with. For social people being secluded and cut off from human contact is hell freaking hell.

I'd gladly be in a abusive relationship it's probably the only kind I'll ever get. Lots of women seem to be verbally abusive anyways.

I was already phycisally and sexually abused growing up. My life is s**t and having no love only makes it worse. Nothing good in my life matters as I have no one to share it with.

I'm glad you and many aspies are able to be content and happy alone but can't you accept that others can't and never will be happy alone?
Why must everyone have the same way to happiness?
We can have gays and straight and trans etc everyone can be different except in how they find happiness?
You find happiness your way and I'll find it my way. Can't change what and how you find happiness anymore then what gender your attracted to. Same as inoverts and extroverts. There's isn't one and only one way to happiness

Thank you, I will.

-5. She had preplanned her funeral out of state (my grandfather passed in the late nineties), and I can't travel to attend. I know funerals are for the living, and my parents understand but I feel bad not being there. I don't think she'd mind when I think about it. She had a steely, practical side to her.

i think we have a great deal more of control over our own happiness than you give yourself credit for, sly. as abraham lincoln said, "most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."

are you doing anything to relieve the pain, flown? meds? distraction (music, conversation, reading, games, etc, etc)? heat? cold? (for heat and cold, no more than 20 min. at a stretch) massage?

Thank you for your concern. I do physical therapy exercises several days a week (I don't have any more PT time remaining on my insurance for the year, unfortunately), have weekly massage therapy, and I use ice and heat. I've had chronic muscle spasm and pain since my early twenties. My only diagnosis is fibromyalgia (which is really just a blanket term for "we don't know what is wrong with you). I cannot take NSAIDs or aspirin due to stomach issues, and I refuse to take pharmaceuticals like Lyrica and muscle relaxers that make me a complete zombie. ^^; Opiates aren't prescribed for chronic pain, so that isn't even an option for me. Kratom tea helps curb the pain a little bit (but it may soon be scheduled by the DEA in the US).

I have a massage this afternoon, so I am hoping that I can get a little bit of relief for a short time!

I may just have to take your advice on the listening to music! Sometimes I get so overwhelmed by the pain sensations that I don't even consider those distractions!

acetaminophen? i know it's not great for severe pain, but it could take the edge off.

my sis-in-law gets narcotics for chronic pain (from lupus). she takes them when the pain is so bad she can't sleep. when taken intermittently, addiction isn't likely.

Acetaminophen doesn't do much of anything. :)

I'm hesitant to pursue the narcotic route (as dependence can develop for anyone), but I sometimes I wish it were an easy option. It's not something readily prescribed by medical professionals and would require me to go to a pain management clinic and undergo random drug screenings and crazy paperwork (seems like a lot of stress that I would prefer to avoid).
