I've had another kind of lice

I'm sorry to hear that but glad it was resolved quickly.

Yes, I do all my own wash.

Do you bend or dog-ear the pages of books?

No. From my time working in my university library preservation department, I've seen firsthand how bad book pages handle that, especially when they are older with brittle paper.

If you could show one historical figure from history a piece of modern life; who would you choose and what would you show them?

I would invite Emily Brontë to my home, so she could explore the internet, enjoy electricity and plumbing, read my novels and play with my dog.

Absolutely.

The coolest thing about the 21st century is that we aren't in the 22nd century.
That would really scare me.

Okay, at the moment, just managing with some difficulties, but I'm not going to complain.


Do you enjoy listening to music to help you during your tasks, etc?

It depends on the task. Right now I have a lot of important paperwork to complete, so no. It would distract me.
Later when I do some cleaning I will have lots of music on cue.

It’s the first “hump day.” Thursday is the other “hump day.”

What sort of tasks do you enjoy while being at a library?

Reading. Surfing the Internet.

Walking around breathing in the soft, intoxicating aroma of books. Going to the sections I like, and squealing when I can fill my arms / basket with books I can only dream of owning. Finding the most private spot to sit, with the most beautiful view. Squealing again at said books before sniffing them covertly, and touching the paper. Then debating which to read.

I enjoy walking through the massive amount of books on the shelves not knowing which ones to check out as, I can't seem to make up my mind.


Do you try to do things that may seem unorthodox to others but, benefit you greatly in your daily life?

I always use Lonely Planet travel books as my “default” when my mind is too fuzzy for literary works.
