Congratulations, ASNerd! That's an awesome accomplishment!

I saw Rafael Nadal this morning getting a birthday present from the Tennis Channel staff. He got a present related to his favorite hobby, fishing. It was so fun to see him happy. Win La Decima, Rafa!

I'm simply glad it's a new day, with the foreknowledge that it will likely have a hard time being as crap as the previous day turned out. Small pleasures.

^ i'm glad that replacing old car parts that have stopped working is enough to calm your nerves. i certainly cannot say the same....

i had one of my car's motor mounts replaced (for free, under warranty) after it collapsed and allowed an abhorrent knocking/pinging sound when coasting to arise, an addition to exacerbating the rattling and vibration during acceleration and idle.

now, it rides much more smoothly and vibration has been reduced to nil. it's like you can't even tell the car is 27 years old.

but i cannot stop WORRYING....i worry that it will fail again, and it will be as if nothing changed! every second i spend coasting, i dread the knocking sound. every time i accelerate, my heart sinks if i even THINK i hear the rattle.

the SUSPENSE!

how does one live in such a way? :(

I got to watch Splash today. Rewatching it, I am reminded why I loved it so much as a child. Madison (the mermaid ) didn't understand how the world on land operated and I could relate.

I got a new phone wallet. It's small and slim and efficient and I like it.
It's a dumb thing, but I hated my old one. It was big and bulky for no reason, heavy, wouldn't fit in pockets, too much space I didn't use. This one is much better, and I don't have to see that old one every day and be annoyed. It also inspired me to clean out and minimize stuff in wallet I never use and I like streamlining. :)

I went to a restaurant yesterday and avoided sensory overloard by getting there early and putting headphones in my ears when I started to notice noise.

The best part was our waiter. He was so adorable. He was tall, pale, and awkward but sincere. His awkwardness made me feel better. We gave him a $15 tip, which was about how much we spent on our food between us.
