It'd be nice if I got refunds

I'm glad things went well for you in the tax department, Esme.

It was quite a surprise, Kraftie. I am incredibly phobic about tax filing, I have to work with a preparer. I get all the paperwork and organize it just dandy, but I'm a basketcase at filing time.

Last year my income was cuckoo bananas, due to retirement and the need to get saved money away from some commercial banks before they found a way to eat it all. Lotsa dull stuff about distributions, state withholding, blah blah - that doesn't scare me, doing the math to figure out the solution to the withholding problems doesn't scare me, but the actual filing reduces me to jelly.

Bottom line, I'd figured it out all right. Whew. Because it. Was. A. Mess.

^^ I'm about two days away from a fresh bag of coffee myself :-)

Meanwhile I'm thrilled because the ulcer I was starting to get is healed enough that I can drink coffee again :-)

Even though I didn't win anything in my speech contest yesterday, I did get a lot of compliments on my speeches.

THIS made me happy just now and I came back here to share it - it's a kaleidoscope animation of a black hole - be careful, it's like Aspie flypaper, at least it is for me. I posted the 4-second version above the looped one, so people could escape :-)

It goes a bit too fast for me but it reminded me how much I used to love the rotating optic fibre Christmas tree we had at one of the places I worked. When business was slow I would stare at it going round the ends changing colour like that

Here you go then :-) - the fiber optic ones didn't come across so well on video so I went for the older aluminium trees.

I found one without a soundtrack, the soundtracks seemed pretty bad on most of them

OOh, found a good one! This is as vintage as it gets :-) enjoy

Ahhhh! loved it, thank you.

Loved it so much I'm going to get myself a little one for next Christmas, plenty of time to save up :D

Even the music was good.

Kitty kisses are the greatest, Esme! That Calico looks like my sweet C.C., who passed away last year. Keep the kitty pics coming!

Finishing a first draft of my first chapter where all the pieces fit together and with the rest of the book. Tomorrow I will smooth it out out and on Tues make a start on chapter two, but from here on there is a lot less changing than on chapter one.

Watching the Oscars with my family and witnessing the "Three Amigos of Hispanic Movies" come full circle when Guillermo Del Toro won Best Director for La Forma Del Agua, known in English as The Shape of Water.
