I remember being asked by my older friend who's now in her 70s when I was going to stop being that character from Hogan's Heroes 8 years ago around this time. I told her that I'd stop wearing hats that look like helmets when I'm good and ready to accept the mismatched body that I was born into. I also told her that the helmets have more to do with my gender identity and expression than they did to do with Schultz.
