I have approximately 750+ friends, of which I count less than 100 close friends and about 500 of those I know in person.

Gonna do som de-friending now...

That's why I think the term "buddy" would be more appropriate.

201 friends, consisting of family, people I know from school, and people I know from church. I wouldn't even have joined if a friend hadn't invited me.

I don't have a Facebook...never could see the appeal. It's just page after page of silent whiteness...the epitome of boring to those of us who have ADD.

On myspace, I have 365 friends.
And I know not a single one.

:D

around ~225, I forget (and can't be bothered to check)

I think a small percentage of that is people I actually know. I sorta went along with the whole "if you've seen them before add them as a friend", now kind of wishing I hadn't, but to be consistent, won't really do anything about it.

Actually, there's really only two or three of them I'd call my friends... and one of them doesn't really go on there much if at all, so meh.

122 - I removed about 70+ people from my list earlier.

I'd only consider a handful to be "friends" - the others I just know as part of networking [where FB really shines] or are family members.

50.

10 are family members, 1 is my wife, 10 are internet gaming buddies, 3 are actual human friends... and the rest are people from high school that have added me through networking.

340 for me. I mostly use it for networking and keeping up with acquaintances, extended family, and a few close friends. I also use it a lot for business. I have a fan page for my photography and often set up shoots over facebook (it seems like no one ever checks their email anymore but they check their facebook about a million times a day).

I have 209. Most are people I added for my games. I'm actually getting tired of so many people on my facebook, and now that I don't play the games so much anymore I don't need the friends.

I think I'm going to delete a few right now

86, and about 75 of them are people I've actually talked to in real life. I find that it's easy to keep in touch with everyone through Facebook - I like how you can post something on your wall and reach through to all of your friends at once. Everyone can always know what's up with you and what's going on in your life. I have a tendency to stop contacting someone for a while and not realize it, and they probably want to know what's going on in my life. I think Facebook gives them security, gives them an opportunity to see where I'm at. For example, if someone doesn't respond to my email for a long time, I can look them up on Facebook and see if they've indeed been on hiatus, or if they just don't want to respond.

I used to have 240. But when I posted a suicidal message and nobody responded, the next day I deleted 210 of the friends. Now I have 30, and they're all family or my mom's friends. I don't use it much anymore.
