Post something that made you UNHAPPY today.
I have never lived outside of the state...
Have you checked their meaning of "resident"?
Where I live, a resident does not have citizenship, and you probably do.
Good luck, don't give up.
They never asked me to prove citizenship, I may have the first time I went to the school a few years back... I am just trying to pay in state tuition for residents. I provided all documentation they requested, plus some. I even have a letter from the federal government. The only explanation I was given was, "Documents not 12 months". I am not sure what they mean by that, when I proved I used the same address for over 3 years. That more then satisfies my states legal definition for resident.
It's getting annoying... I have complied, in accordance to there policy determined within Valencia's Residency Form. I have produced multiple documents they requested and some I volunteered in accordance of 1009.21. But everything has been rejected by admissions as not "12 months", but so far I have proved over 3 years. Only a few months shy from my last term I attended with the school.
I am preparing to argue state statue 1009.25 when I meet with an admissions supervisor. I am currently working with my therapist on preparing supporting documents. If I have no success, I will contact my city commissioner and work from there.
I finally got a meeting with the Assistant Director, Admissions & Records from East campus and another director from a different campus... Will be interesting to see how this goes. I have a feeling it's going to be very uncomfortable, but it needs to be done.
They just kept repeating 12 months... Completely ignoring the last part of the statue. They denied everything I showed them, including the letter from my therapist. Anything they asked for and I provided, was denied. Some they asked for on the spot, such as a parent's vehicles registration and I pulled up my parents airplane on the FAA website... They dismissed it, saying it's not a vehicle and can be easily removed from the state. Well, so can a car and the airplane has wheels and a engine.
I got so angry and just walked out, as it was going no where.

I'm beginning to convince myself I need to postpone my studies until Autumn - all of them - instead of simply the one I intended to elongate and take up again later. There is never an anchor tethering me to the rest of the world that remains secure, at least for long. Psychologists grow stale in their logic (or just lack it to begin with), therapy groups merely prove I am easily irritable around people and a loner at heart. I am goddamn relapsing into depression - it's such an absolute clarity right now - that I wonder how I can ever truly delude myself for extended periods of time into thinking I can beat the disease that twisted the end off my childhood, destroyed my adolescence and continues to cripple my adulthood.

I'm kind of worried about going to the dentist in a couple of days - They're going to:
- Fix a chipped tooth
- Fix a filling that was ground away
- Fill two new cavities
(The chipped tooth and the ground-away filling were both caused by me gritting and gnashing my teeth all the time before my medication was adjusted.)

Yea, maybe. I did contact my city commissioner, state representative, FL Department of Education and a few other groups to see where it goes.
I am not giving anymore info to the school, they keep asking and I provided just to be turned down. I am drawing the line with my drivers license, vehicle registration, 3 court documents, 2 state documents, IRS Tax Transcript and the latest being the family ties BS... F.S.S 1009.21 clearly states two or more documents. At least one from Tier One, I provided my drivers license and vehicle registration. The rest can be from Tier Two and I provided numerous legal ties with the state.
1009.21
f. Any other documentation that supports the student’s request for resident status, including, but not limited to, utility bills and proof of 12 consecutive months of payments; a lease agreement and proof of 12 consecutive months of payments; or an official state, federal, or court document evidencing legal ties to Florida.

Dang, I do this a lot. Never thought about medication.

Ma got me a Grumpy Cat coloring book for adults for my Bday. She asked me yesterday if I had started using it yet. I said that I had been knitting lately (which is true). I looked over the book again this morning and there is no way I will be using it. The pictures are extremely intricate and complex. It overwhelms me just looking at tbem. I like to color simple pictures - like Victorian children or women or houses. The last book I bought has cats and yarn pictures all having to do with knitting. What is relaxing about little squares and triangles and circles and curly q's?! Ugh. I don't have the heart to tell her that I'm just not interested. Just because it's an adult coloring book, does that mean it has to be so complex? I guess someone likes it because Ma ended up getting the last one and it's getting a 5 Star rating on Amazon. Whatever. Maybe I don't have the energy to tackle it because I've been pretty depressed lately. This cloudy rainy weather day after day isn't helping.

And I got a little sick to my stomach cuz of the sun & then I got sooo angry at my sister, I got more sick in my stomach, I almost threw up, felt like I had trouble breathing.
