Most everyone in my family calls me Shea, which is my middle name. One of my uncles gets called by his middle name too.

Anyone else experience this within their family or just a pet name like Pookie, Dumpling, Lil' Devil?

Yes.

I can't reveal my nickname.
It's really, really embarrassing. Not cheesy or some weird verb or pet name, or a shorten name derived from my real name. It's a something from where I live, whereas almost everyone has their's. Even celebrities.

My entire family, each and everyone of them have their own too. I never called anyone by their nicknames except my besties, my childhood friends, cousins from the same generation, and my only sibling.

Only my mom, my sister, and my besties could ever call me with a pet name. Everyone else would earn a punch on the face at worst... Which I had already gave and not just once, twice, or trice. :skull:

I took myself too seriously as a kid. That's why I never had a nickname as a kid.

My mother tried to call me "Donnie"--but I would have nothing of that!

Except, once in a while, somebody would call me "Kortie." Or some derogatory name.

I was never actually called "Kraftie." The name Krafty Kortie was made up for a specific event: a softball game. I was 9 years old. A kid thought I was smart, and protected me from bullies. He came up with the alliterative nickname.

My sister used to *constantly* called me boody, short for Buddah which she would also call me. i.e. the whole time she was calling me FAT and giggled at me every time. It's only recently I realised she was being mean.

My dad affectionally calls me stuff like "Stupid" and "Worst Kid Ever"

My parents say that in their days (or perhaps it was the olden days), parents would call their kids by a bad (sometimes even offensive) nickname in hopes that the kid will "overcome" their name. Something like that.

My mom just calls me by the pet form of my name.

Screensaver. Derived from my uncanny ability to "check out" and go blank when there is too much going on.

My common nickname is from an old movie. I won't reveal it here. I don't reveal my name or nickname for privacy reasons.

IstominFan is my screen name because I like Denis Istomin.

I'm called by my nickname alot but my nickname is just a shorter version of my name. My dad calls me Dude sometimes thou. I'm not sure what the story with that is except I used to watch the Nickelodeon show Hey Dude.

If I had a nickname based on my greatest obsession, I would say it would be "Crazy Cat Lady."

My mum calls me Shell because I retreat into my shell in times of trouble.

On a cat site I used to visit, my custom title was "Lynx" because of my love for Lynx (tabby) point Siamese cats. I had two of them, Samantha and Prince.

Yes, and I vastly prefer it as my only other option with them is my birth name and I loathe, detest, despise my birth name. Always have. I haven't even gone by that legally in years now.
Otherwise, I get called "the kid" even though I'm not a kid. I suppose it's because I am their kid? I prefer that, too - I like to be referred to in impersonal terms.

Not beyond the generic "sweetie," which my mom uses on occasion. It always makes me feel slightly left out, because it seems like most people have had some sort of nickname. Kind of feels like no one pays enough attention to me to bother with a nickname.
