A hen will lay an egg a day until she has 6-9 of them, at which point she becomes broody and sits on them all day for 21 days. They all hatch the same day, so that means that the first week's worth of eggs she lays, lie dormant until she sits on them.

if you fire a gun and drop a bullet they should hit the ground at the same time
(providing that the bullet is dropped at the same hight as the barrel of the gun, the gun barrel and the land is perfectly horizontal and the gun id fired at the same time as the bullet is dropped)

While the world was busy welcoming the arrival of the twentieth century on December 31, 1900, a forceful gale on England's Salisbury Plain blew over one of the ancient monumental stones at Stonehenge.

President James Garfield could write Latin with one hand and Greek with the other - simultaneously. Leonardo Da Vinci could draw with one hand and write with the other - also simultaneously.

Brazil is a land with a lot of big creatures — it is home to the world's largest snake (the anaconda, measuring up to 35 feet in length), largest spider, largest rodent (the capybara, a sort of guinea pig the size of a police dog), and the world's largest ant.

Homer Simpson's expression 'D'Oh ! ' is said to have been partly inspired by an
actor from old Laurel & Hardy movies,James Finlayson. His 'D'oh !' was an
abridged version of 'Damn!' which was considered inappropriate for broadcasting
in full at the time.

Statistically speaking, the most dangerous job in the United States is that of sanitation worker. Firemen and policeman are a close second and third places, followed by leather tanners in fourth.

Snow isn't what usually comes to mind when envisioning Arizona's Old West and desert country in southern Arizona. Despite its extreme southern locale, Mount Lemmon Ski Valley can offer some of the best skiing in the state. The ski area averages an annual snowfall of 175 inches. Tucked into the Santa Catalina Mountains, Mount Lemmon's scenic ski area has the distinction of being the southernmost ski resort in the continental United States.
