Seriously, this is probably one of the most efficient solutions I've seen to indicating sarcasm on the internet.

The BBC uses the exclamation mark between brackets in their Ceefax subtitles to indicate someone is being sarcastic.

I've used the exclamation mark in brackets with a somewhat different purpose; to make fun of myself, when I'm talking about something I did that was particularly stupid or silly.

Yeah, because there isn't already a good way to indicate sarcasm through punctuation (!).
