For example, my name is Zac, but I have had several people who do not even know each other call me Josh. I am kinda baffled. lol. Anyone ever experience this?

I've had Bryony, Verity (<-sisters' names), Mariam, Melvin (Well, I was trying to get him to call me Malvina  ), and I'm sure there are others.

I've been called Paula by people who misheard me when I said my name is Barbara. There were 2 guys at work named Bob and Dave. I found out that I had been calling Bob "Dave" and Dave "Bob" for more than a month.

I have a neighbour in my building who thinks my name is Steve, I corrected him once but he is somewhat odd and with regard myself generally well intentioned so now I just let it slide now though to be fair he mainly addresses me now as 'bro' [a local polynesian thing]

peace j [for John]

When I worked by the zoo, one of my co-workers called me "Jackie" sometimes. I had to correct her and tell her that my name is Jennifer.

In my group at school, there were 7 Chris's so to pick us apart we all got called by our last names and mine's pretty much stuck from then on. I answer to both my first and last names :P

I have worked at the same place for 3 decades, and I've been called many names. Nothing nasty, often the names of coworkers from the department I work in. I rarely correct them, and if they realize their mistake, I tell them not to worry. It happens all the time. I've been told I have a very common face and I know I have a very common name. It doesn't really matter. I've been called John, Eric, Scott, Brian, to name a few. On the plus side I've never been called a female's name, though when my hair was longer, I was called Miss a few times at the grocery store. I really don't get that. I don't think I look particularly androgynous. sorry. I've maybe veered off topic.

I was always called Claire when I was younger. That isn't my name.

Used to happen ALL the time as a youngster, still does occasionally. Whenever there were more guys with my name in class they instantly became known by their middle names, I was never allowed to. Where do I go to get reparations? xd

Daniel instead of Danielle. It's more of a pronunciation issue than anything.

I'm almost always called Bryan, or Ron or some other similar sounding name... I don't actually care to correct them because I don't care for the name Ryan either.

It has led to some people being upset though when another person who knew my name corrected them... which left them embarrassed that they'd been calling me by the wrong name for so long.

People often call me "you"; and I've also overheard other people call me "him". :P

When I was a boy my Stepfather went through a phase of calling me Susan.

The other name he would call me was c**t, not in a burst of anger way, just in a matter of fact way like, "your dinners ready c**t, go and wash your hands".

I'm often called Fester (because I look like him and it's my DJ name), or "Professor" by one of my neighbors because I've fixed her TV a few times.
