The toilet isn't too noisy. I just mentioned that as one thing my downstairs neighbour migh hear, because mine apartment is above his. This house is made out of wood, and it was built in 1964. Back then the requirements to sound isolation isn't what they are today.
The problem is the bubble. It indicates that moisture (water) has penetrated the barrier that was supposed to be waterproof. Yes maybe there is a way to patch it up, I have never heard of it though. If you put in a shower cabinet the water doesn't hit the walls anymore. Then it goes directly into the drain. My bathroom is extremly small, that's why I would have to replace the furniture to get room for a shower cabinet.
