Why do most of the anti-psychotics have weight gain as a side effect? Why do I have to do better on anti-psychotics? I would have beer and bratwurst for every meal if I could.

if you don't mind, can you tell me if the weight gain is due to increased appetite or reduced metabolism?

There's definitely some increased appetite, more with some meds than others, but, I have been told they can amp up the blood sugar, too, so messing with hormones? I'm not sure. Then again, most of them make you want to sleep every spare second, so it could be entirely lack of exercise.

from what I've found, increased blood sugar ties in with increased insulin whose purpose here is to convert that excess blood sugar to stored fat, hence the weight gain. so it sounds like it is wrecking your sugar metabolism. the only ways around that are to strictly limit dietary sugars [any food that is white] and add daily vigorous exercise of at least half an hour duration and intense enough to make you sweat. that is what I do, it is the only way I have of making my clothes fit. i'm too cheap to buy new ones.

Offal isn't awful.
Liver and kidneys are quite delicious.

Chipotle sauce goes well on anything.

GMO corn - yum!

I'll have some extra MSG with my gluten, and some high fructose corn syrup to drink.

I can't stand sweets. I don't see what so many people like about them. I think it's the sugar, it just makes me nauseous. Sometimes I crave sweets, but I can't stand leaving that taste in my mouth so I must eat something savory to cancel it out.

Texture is more important than taste, so I'm very picky and the brand has to have the same texture and not change its ingredients or I'll know it and get frustrated.

I like chocolate but hate other sweets/candy.
I like oranges but will not drink orange juice.
I like tomatoes but will not drink tomato juice.
I hate cherries and lychees.
I like strawberries but will not eat anything strawberry flavoured.
I like apple juice and pear juice but will not eat apples and pears (except avocado).
I eat no animal product.
I have no salt, mustard, vinegar, pepper or sauces on my food except apple sauce and cranberry sauce.
I hate marzipan.
I detest mint with a vengeance, especially spearmint. I can honestly say that I have never chewed gum in my life, the smell makes me gag.
Red wine is awful, too acidic.

Cream cheese ruins desserts

Cheesecake is too sour to call dessert

Mayonnaise ruins everything, it's better to eat a sandwich or a burger dry than to slather mayonnaise on it.

I can't stand more than say 3 Scoffield units, maybe 5 at a push.

And don't tell me to get it while it's hot, I prefer to let it cool down a bit first. I can't taste food if I burn my tastebuds on the first bite.

Very sensible, Lyra, you can't taste it properly when it is too hot.
