have you ever counted the number of Church's in your town or county?
all denominations and all religions,
tally those up next to the town population number,
add in the size of your county (sq miles/ect),
then post them here, oh ya, one more thing,
if you use just the phone book you will
miss many of them, trust me,
but if its all you can or will do,
then the phone book would be just fine.

I think you would be stunned by the results.

Pop / Sq / Church# =

(hey, can someone sticky this, it may take a couple days for some
of the people here to locate the answers and post them here, just for a few days.)

I would be very interested to do that, but I rarely go out because of anxiety. Churches in my area are very interesting though, at least, the old ones are anyway. They're very nice buildings. I've noticed in some areas there is even more than one Church on just one road. There's one in Moss Side which I drive past on my way into university, which has all the signs in both Polish and English, because of the immigration. I guess Churches reflect their community in a lot of ways, even in predominantly secular societies.

i can give you the answer right away:
population: 19 800
churches: 2 (both Christian)
:D
but that's central europe, the little town where i was born.
you probably don't want to know that.

I have not tallied the town I now live in yet,
but there seems to be one on almost every other block in town.
it's almost sickening.

in my old town when the population was around 6k
there was around 96 church's "in town".
that was like 8 years ago when i last counted,
and I still could have missed a few.

There seem to be a ridiculously high number of churches where I live.
And it's definitely not a religious area.
I'm OK with the really old ones though because I love the buildings.
But there are also loads of new ones which just look crap.
And I'm atheist so I see it as a waste of time.
