I wish I can associate Germany with the Ringstrasse----where Freud lived i(in Vienna) in his formative years.

He formulated some of his psychoanalytic theories in walks around this Ringstrasse.

But, alas, the Ringstrasse is in Austria

I was told that even the London Tube isn't as prompt as the Berlin S-Bahn. And I found English trains, in general, to be quite prompt.

Used to be extremely prompt trains. I've had quite a few times when I'm still standing on the Bahnsteig waiting for a train 10 minutes after it was supposed to arrive :( Although that's been several years ago already, so maybe they've improved since??

German marches, Hogan's Heroes, Sgt. Schultz and beautiful buildings. I also think of the colours, green and brown.

I also think of lots of meat and sausage, apple strudel, Oktoberfest, beer and Volkswagens.

You must be, said the Cat, or you wouldn't have come here.

In the 1960s, they had many good rock-n-roll sorts of shows--one example being "Beat Club." Far more advanced than something like Bandstand.

You can watch early Jimi Hendrix on YouTube in one of those shows.

A German named Astrid was the primary impetus behind the "Beatle Haircut."
