Here's a Youtube video of chickadees and other birds at a feeder - it's titled "Visual Catnip" :-)

Yes, they can! My cat, C.C., watched tennis. She loved to watch Rafael Nadal!

We had cats try to attack the TV before because of some fast movement on the program.

I saw You Tube videos of cats watching tennis! Rafael Nadal was on the screen. Rafa is a hit with the female cat demographic, too!

I think it is possible for some animals, i'm not sure if all can since the luminosity and other factors can make it hard to watch for some of them, some of them may just see it as a bright light or something.

Cats and dogs can watch t.v especially the newer flat t.vs that have higher resolution or whatever. However its more difficult if you have a t.v like this:

From what I gather some cats/dogs can see limited images, but its mostly flashing lights on those older t.vs. If you've got a newer flat t.v they can see whats going on a lot more clearly without the flickering.

Some do, others ignore the TV completely.
