For me, it's standing outside at night staring up at the stars, feeling and listening to the wind in the trees, hearing the cars go by, listening to the crickets. I don't know why, it's just very peaceful for me. I think about my past, wondering what my childhood friends are up to, old coworkers are doing, whose banging the girls i liked etc.

Hardly anything.

Staying offline helps though.

Tbh I get bored when I'm anything remotely near calm though. All that spa day and sunbathing type stuff bores me senseless. I'd rather be happy than calm.

Not going into work. I am so stressed as I have work soon... Grrr! And yet I can almost do the work with my eyes closed, and it is work in line with one of my hobbies (Some on here have said special interest). I am stressed as I have been having energy loss situations which could be shut downs or could be something else.

Cats-and animals in general

Seeing videos of tennis player Denis Istomin. His calm demeanor when giving interviews is something I would like to emulate in my own life.

Sitting in a bathtub filled with water hot enough to make sweat pour down my face.

Playing tennis until I work up a good sweat-takes away the stress.

10,000th post-maybe I'll take a small break for a week while I work on other projects.

Carefully selected music, if I'm not in shutdown mode.
Cuddling my dog.
Watching my fish.
A purring cat.

Getting in bed and watching DVDs because it feels like I'm entering another world where I can leave all my problems behind for a while. This especially feels relaxing when I watch the Simpsons.

Soaking in a hot bubble-bath, reading a magazine with a glass of coke.

Talking on the phone to my mum or to a friend, about anything and everything.

Having my boyfriend massage my back in bed. Aahhhh....

Putting on an audiobook where I can close my eyes and imagine the story like I'm actually watching a movie in my mind.

Having afternoon naps.

Watching or listening to ASMR videos on YouTube.

Writing.

In order of effectiveness:

1. My fetish of high heeled CBT.
2. "Touchies"-Where my wife gently runs her fingers on the back of my head where my hairline is.
3. Rolling back and forth in bed while listening to soundtracks that allow me to replay whatever scenario went wrong in a way where it went right.
4. ShipSim and anything that has to do with tug boats or commercial maritime vessels in general.
5. Deep diving research into various man made disasters.
6. Flight Simulator-More specifically, a high speed flight low level through the grand canyon in an F-16.

I'm just now realizing that in the first two, I have zero control. The other four are things that I control and feel that I master. The only things I'm confident in. Eureka!

I can't believe I forgot to mention stimming. I likely stim 10 - 20 000 times a day. It's relentless, even when I'm not stressed. Add stress and I'm off the charts between catatonia and Stim City.

Going for long walks, especially anywhere with lots of trees. Listening to music.

1. Also for Fetish, but for spandex / nylon type material. I put an Isotoner like glove on earlier and it felt so nice.

2. Some blends of String and Synth instruments

3. I tried a Virtual Reality demo game called Heart of the Emberstone: Coliseum that was very balanced as a puzzle / door opener world. You could emit light beams from your hands and lift objects.

4. Eating a decent meal in a quiet diner at 3am. Maybe splurge on pie with coffee.

5. Visual Meditation

Many things. It could vary why, when, how...

"Observing" things.

The sunset/sunrise heat. Better if there's gentle breeze with it.
Chocolate. Though it could excite me too.
Crafting. Walking. Listening and reading to stuff.
Writing. Listing stuff. Drawing. Lifting. Moving at high speeds and sensing momentum.

.. Just being in a solitary space feeling there are no other presences, and observe from there as the time slowly became less meaningful, and things fade away without falling asleep.

A warm bath, although it does make me sleepy and want to take a nap. Not in the tub though, I could never get comfortable enough to sleep in my dinky little apartment bathtub, so don't worry about me drowning.

Relaxing music.

My cats. Although their antics can sometimes get me worked up, too. :)

Working on a craft or art project.

Cuddly stuffed animals.
