Taken by a friend but sums it up nicely:



Biggest bonfire of the year. Massive potluck with way too much food good (beef salmon pulled porn lamb cornbread goat cheese fruit veggies etc) & "bad." (treats) Plenty of alcohol/smoke for all that wanted. Magic mushroom tea. Weather was extremely mild - the warmest NYD I can recall ever. Plenty of people decided to go of a nude swim. (Still too cold for me F that, but some people do this on Actual cold nights in February after Midnight then com out of the ocean all invigorated and warm up by a fire.) Sampled a few whiskeys, ate tons of good food and treats, had some prawns that were literally caught the day before a few Kms off shore just off one of the islands that's visible from the beach.. bit of warm sunlight in the morning, mostly grey cloudy skies but there was a nice period of sun shining down on the ocean that looked pretty surreal beautiful (in part thanks to the tea I was gifted) & it all comes together in a bit of a "Pinch me; is this place even real?" sort of moment. But it most certainly is and the live music and singing was nice to hear along with all the rest of it, the laughs and jokes, stories and happy new year greetings etc + the crew of sea-doo riders rolling up to join the party like a bunch of ocean bikers. Pretty decent start to the year for everyone there no matter how crappy their Winter may have been going in the real world up top.
