gaueko

Literally, ‘of night’ in Basque. Mythical spirit who devours people and sheep outside after midnight, saying, “Gaua gauekoentzat, eguna egunekoentzat” (“night for those of night, day for those of day”).

jaguar

It’s spelled that way in a lot of languages; just pick one other than English :P If I must name a few, hm, … * looks at Wiktionary *, Afrikaans, Danish, Dutch, French, Indonesian, Malay, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish (though I think the spelling yaguar is preferable), Swedish and Turkish. It’s spelled the same in German, too, except it’s always capitalized, like all nouns in this language.
