another reason to be a social misfit................
Hi,
anyone have hyperhidrosis??? A medical condition that causes excessive sweating. I have it in the scalp and face. My other issues are aspie traits(right word?). So, during the summer, if by chance, I do have a conversation with someone, I have to quickly walk away because of the embarrassing situation of being covered in sweat.
I'm not sure.
I do often sweat profusely... but it's at strange times, and I'm thinking it's more to do with the effects of anxiety than a medical condition.
Like, if I have to socialise all crammed in with other people and the situation is uncertain and unpredictable.... I often end up all sweaty then.
But I can lie out in the sun all afternoon and not end up sweaty.
I never had this as a child or teenager - fortunately !
I totally understand what you mean about it making it really difficult to socialise.
For me, it can also be difficult to take in enough fluid to compensate for it.
What I sometimes do if I can anticipate a tricky social situation is wear clothes that won't show up sweat, because they're made out of a mesh or fleecy sort of material.
Hmmm that's a curious challenge.
I've had a lot of luck at helping people modify automatic (unconscious) activities, and I suppose from a certain point of view this is controlled by the brain and certainly not the conscious part, which pretty much leaves it in the unconscious realm of control.
I'd be fascinated to see if this could be modified too. There's a chance it could be. =)
I'm game if you are.

The program just needs upgraded to your current knowledge.
You're mind knows how to do this easy. It just isn't paying attention to when it needs do this.
We can tell your brain that when -is now.
That sounds like the "map is not the location" element of NLP.

:-) That sounds like the "map is not the location" element of NLP.
I'm not sure what that means but my personal opinion of NLP is that it comes from cows and would be best for gardens and rosebushes. =)
Hypnosis has it's uses, but I don't do hypnosis -over complicated, time consuming, slow, and pointlessly unnecessary.
Trance states are 'fun' I reckon and make 'clients' feel good but other than that they're a dramatic waste of time.
In my opinion that is. =)
When working with similar objects (like the human mind) it's pretty common to have similar vocabulary. =)
