Hey everyone. I recently lost close to 30 pounds from my highest weight and have gone from a size 24 to a size 18.

All of my life especially in my teen years I was body shamed. Without going into personal history I have been on various antipsychotics my entire life since I was 7. The last time I weighed my ideal BMI I was 10. My weight has gone up and down since then.

When I put on my cute outfits that I couldn’t fit into a year ago I don’t see my progress. I see having to have a hole sawed in my wall and and struggling to fit on the ambulance stretcher. I feel like I can’t tell anyone about this but I’m trying to eat as little as possible and avoid mirrors.

Congratulations on the weight loss!

I can understand the difficulty with body image.
You still need to choose styles that flatter your body type.
Some clothes just not flattering for normal people.

Big people can look great when they want to. I wear coats that stand out and I'm often asked where I've bought them from, and I'm complimented on them. Choose a unique style and stand out like a peacock. 8) Sunglasses also can make anyone look cool, especially nice ones. An expensive pair can last you for years.

That's really rough, I'm sorry. Can you talk to a professional about it, like a therapist?

^ It's interesting how we have completely different ways of trying to cheer someone up.

Well, it sounds like something clinical to me - I have a history of body dysmorphic disorder and an eating disorder and I've felt similarly about my body. The thing that helped me was therapy. So, that's why I suggested it. But if she is looking to just vent and not for advice, she can disregard my comment.

I do have professionals I can talk to but anything involving therapy is always hard. I prefer to deal with my problems through writing in my journal because I’m used to the worst case scenario when I do tell people about my body image issues. This was my highest weight:

And my current weight

No matter what I will never be able to believe my weight loss.

Thank you. I’m really trying to lose weight. I just want to be completely healthy. I know I’ll get there. As much as I wish I could be a size 00 or smaller like everyone wishes I was, I just want to weigh 140 to 165.

At the thrift stores in my area, they don't even have rack space for anything below size small or 4-6.
I have to to got Kohl's or Target to buy size 2 clothing. I don't know where someone shops for size 0.
I don't think I've seen anything below Small 4-6 at Walmart.

I found that Nordstrom has size 0. You find size 0 at the places that sell more expensive clothes.

Ever since 9th grade I was the cute chubby girl. I weighed 180 at my smallest
