Has anyone tried it and had positive results?

Some days for me, everything works out just right and I can think clearly and relate properly to everyone else, always know what to say and can pay attention to other people perfectly, etc.
And then some days my mind disintegrates and I can hardly think, have no idea what to say, not be able to make eye contact (or just stare), hardly understand what other people are saying and be completely disconnected from the human world.

What defines the difference? Obviously it's in the brain, and even for someone who is not NT, there must be something going on chemically that allows everything to work properly sometimes, and not other times.

I wonder what?

I've done it and it's worked well. However, I also have GI and Immune issues. I've been obsessed with alternative health treatments for some time now...hahaha(the doctor was pissed when she realized just what my obsession actually was) It has however made life much better for my son and me. We no longer have the GI painful problems we had before but both of us are still autistic. Yet I'm not sick and neither is he so I guess happier but still autistic. Oh well I think we'll take happier, as for if it does anything for you that's something you'll just have to try and see.

I would like to persue this but not at a huge expense to my budget...

i can't really say much about CFGF, but i heard somewhere that people who were on the diet ended up with abnormally low bone density, though i'm not sure why..... just something i read somewhere.. don't remember where... *shrug* some food packages these days will say something like "gluten free!" or something like that....

as for me, personally, i benefited greatly by going sugar-free!! :D

If that was true, and it might well be for some who choose GFCF, it would be a calcium issue. I believe that if you eat enough green vegetables, legumes, nuts, fish, eggs and/or fruits, you will have sufficient calcium.

Maybe obvious, but you still need to eat a balanced diet when on the CFGF.

liveandletdie, some good and cheap substitutes for wheat are rice, oats and potatoes. Some consider oats to be okay, some not, YMMV. See above for dairy alternatives.

can you cook potatoes in the microwave?

I think i am going to add potatoes to the diet as they are cheap...

and easy to stuff with things...

currently eating oats...

and have not eliminated bread entirely yet...working on it though =/ hard habit to break.

I don't see where above it mentions dairy substitutes...

am I missing something? I tried soy but my body doesn't really like soy for whatever reason.

Maybe try it again...

You can, my father does 'em like that. I'm not sure about microwaves myself.

Yup, it's addictive. Quitting smokes was easier.

Green vegetables, legumes, nuts, fish, eggs and/or fruits.

If you're looking for a direct analog, i.e. a milky substance... then I would go for rice milk, or almond milk. Can be pricey though.

My belief about soy is that it isn't good, unless it's fermented (miso).

I was actually diagnosed with a casiene intolerance. Too much milk gives me a really bad headache. It's really not fun. I still consume dairy, but I can only handle small doses and I take enzymes orally through pills to help me break it down because apparently I lack the enzymes needed to break down the casiene fast enough.

Gluten on the other hand never bothered me a bit.

Rice milk!

You might want to look up the GFCF diet and see how other people are doing it.

I was on it and it may have made have made a difference but when I was out it was hard to get anything gluten/casein free. I also couldn't have beer or wine. Wine has casein in it believe it or not. I lost a tonne of weight but it made me not enjoy eating. Everything was so plain.
The cheapest way is to make most of the meals yourself. When I asked in a health shop they directed me to gluten free bread crumbs, mmm.

milk always makes my lungs congested. i drink soy milk instead.

there's also something in the seasoning of the flaming hot Cheetos and spicy Funions that makes me congested, but i'm not sure what it is... =/
