Are there a lot of people here that don't drink? I'm one of them and I feel like I'm in a small minority, but among the autistic/Asperger's crowd it seems much more common. I've never gotten past the taste, or wanting to feel drunk. My question is, anyone out there try it late in life and think to themselves, "Man, what was I waiting for."? I'm 38 now but spent many of my younger years in bars as a musician, it was annoying at times to have to explain myself to other drinkers why I didn't want to, I think they often felt it was me trying to act superior.

I can't tolerate the taste of any kind of alcohol but I love the sensation of being tipsy or a little drunk.

About two or three times a year I mix a very strong drink and suck it down as fast as possible by putting a straw towards the back of my throat so I can't taste it. This gives me enough of a buzz that I am rendered more capable of consuming subsequent alcoholic drinks like a normal person. But frequently I can't bring myself to suck down that first drink and it sits there until it grows warm and stale, despite my wanting to drink it.

I only got drunk once. That was enough for me. I do drink wine, but never to the point of intoxication.

I wish i hated the taste unfortunatley i'm an alcoholic. although i havent had a drink in like a week or so? I seem to get really bad addictions that stay with me for years!

count yourself lucky you dont like the taste, and now that i think back when i first started drinking beer was so nasty to me but once i got drunk oh damn did i LOVE that feeling. :pig:

If coffee, blueberry juice or anything else i like to drink gave me that same experiance well...

I'd sail aroung the world to find it. watch this :pig: fly!

I can't tolerate alcohol now, in the past I'd drink now & again but every time I'd pay for it, ending up with an awful hangover & feeling like s##t for a week or so after (no exaggeration) - I never usually drank that much either. I can't say I've ever enjoyed the taste but I suppose it worked well as a social lubricant at times. I don't like being around people who drink at all now really, which is a bit of a problem since most socialising seems to involve alcohol. I sometimes dream of a world without alcohol & instead societies drug of choice being much friendlier, far less toxic & enlightening in nature :).

I'm a social drinker. So 1-2 times a month I'll have 4-6 beers.
I don't drink on my own. All I usually drink is water.
But I'm into the punk/rock music scene and my friends drink a lot and I have less social problems when a bit drunk.

I really can't stand hangovers so I only have a big night of drinking every few weeks or so.

I've had less than ten drinks in my life. Can't stand the taste and it gives me a stomach ache. I have definitely had people think I was a snob because I didn't drink. I have had someone say to me " I don't trust a man who doesn't drink" WTF?

I don't drink. I got drunk once, and never again! I was deathly ill that night. I can't stand the smell or taste of alcohol, either. Once in a while, I have consumed a glass of champagne at weddings, but not even that, for the last 10 years. Give me good cup of tea or coffee, anytime.

I made the decision at a very young age that I wasn't going to drink. Even as a kid I never saw any good come of it so I was prepared to say "no thanks" in high school when all of my friends started drinking.
I have since had a handfull of drinks and have to say that I REALLY like the taste. I don't care for being tipsy or drunk (I've only been a little drunk, and only once) but I like the taste alot. Probably too much.
I have always and continue to hate being around drunk people and being in bars.
All in all my biggest problem with alcohol is that it makes people stupider and people are sooooo stupid already!

surely if you drink it at all you are intoxicated? I find i need less than 100ml of beer to feel the effects but i can also drink a fair amount and not get uncomfortably drunk.

I like it but i don't drink often. usually about 3 beers a month averaging for the times i do drink more.
I feel if i made a habit of it i would get addicted or at least feel i need it. I used to hate the taste but i can enjoy it sometimes now

It takes two glass of beer for me to fill the effects. I suppose we're all different.

I did have a dependence on drinking once which is why I rarely drink. Would never have more than two glasses if I'm home alone.

Since I didn't understand why people drunk, I decided to bite through the horrible taste. So ended up getting drunk and It got really bad... just me without mind restraints, so Horrible Taste + Horrible Affect... so no I don't drink anymore. Though my graduation afterparty and schoolies will be coming up soon so it's gonna be annoying constantly explaining to people why I don't drink..
