When I'm suffering from certain forms of physical pain (like the type from sharply banging my knee against something hard) I smile or grimace to sort of cope with it, and sometimes I even laugh, expecially if I start talking (I may also gasp and curse under my breath, but that's more normal). This makes the pain more bearable and it's sort of natural in a weird way. I remember once I was trying to cut myself with my razor, I not quite sure why, and once I finally did I slashed myself a few more times until I started to feel the pain, then laughed like a maniac for a while, I sort of scared myself. Aspies are known for unusual displays of emotion and I'm wondering if this counts. Does anyone else do this or something like it?

I also do that. I was just thinking about that yesterday.

I remember that happened once when I wiped out on my bicycle when I was about 10. Even I thought it was odd at the time, but I couldn't stop.
