These are called “initiation” and “shift”. These part of executive functioning which many on the spectrum have problems with.
As part of my ASD assessment I was given the BRIEF-A test which tests for executive dysfunction. The results said 84 percent of people have better initiation skills and 98 percent of people have better shift skills then me.
