Wait, I thought only SCD is used if there are no repetitive and restricted behaviors but what if someone did that have but they didn't have enough off the social and communication deficits? Or what if they only had social deficits but not communication deficits? They can't go with the SCD then because they have repetitive and restrictive behaviors. Also the narrow interests are only one of the requirements to meet, you don't have ti fit it just as long as you fit at least the other two in that part of the ASD criteria. This is according to the ASD-5 criteria.

I do despise criterias because doctors make rules for what you need to meet to have them and that just makes people slip in between the cracks because then nothing fits them but yet they have an impairment and nothing fits. I am glad not all disorders have criterias.

yup, good question, hence the DSM has created more confusion and ontop of that its a new criteria that isnt globally known and therefore is subject to professional interpretation! its only now we/people are starting to learn and understand about Aspergers, now they want to change it to something 99.9% of the people on the planet have never heard of (again thats if you dont show the interests associated with the spectrum to the same degree, which again is subjective)... this is what my last psychologist said anyway which was funny (not) as she never really allowed me to express my interests!..So still feel it was more of a financial decision to change the criteria because as mentioned in the US there is no insurance coverage for this new Diagnosis... Should see how many parents are flaring up about this online as their sons/daughters diagnosis have been changed to the later!
