Escalator Obsession

I am the mother to a non-verbal 9 year old boy (an identical twin) with autism - he is obsessed with escalators - he watches them on YouTube, likes riding on them at the mall, airport etc. and also likes to film them with an iPhone. I've noticed that there are 1,000s of clips on YouTube of escalators - one even has a song about escalators. Any suggestions about how I can contact others with this special interest and/or their families? It would be good to know how to expand my son's interest e.g. how escalators are built etc.

If he likes Elevators as well, I'd suggest trying to contact Andrew Reams (YouTube channel: Dieselducy), an adult with Asperger's who does advocacy work on autism. He also runs the most extensive elevator channel on YouTube. He is known to sometimes bring autistic children and teens in on his videos. I'm sure he knows some of the escalator folks as well.
