Do any of prefer one parent over the other?

Defiantly my mom. My dad worked all the time and was rarely there and in a way, it was like I didn't have a father. When my dad was around, I was afraid of him. He would often hit me and throw me into walls when I had a meltdown. He had an anger problem and drank. He only stopped when my niece came around and they wanted custody of her.

Total preference for my dad. My mother is an addict and a complete nutcase. My dad, on the other hand, is a decent person and has a good sense of humor.

I prefer my mom, anytime, anywhere. Probably, ever.

One of the most obvious reason is that my dad had been in abroad for more than a decade now, and we rarely talked.

And I don't know him well... I only have my childhood memories of him and several 2nd hand accounts of what he's like.
