i dont know if theres a trend of music and autism but i feel like the CLOSEST thing i have to a "savant" skill is my ability to name a song after only hearing it a few times after hearing only a few beats. maybe its not that impressive and i think most people have that skill and its more than likely nothing like a savant skill. but what im trying to say is i really like music. and one thing i found after meeting other people on the spectrum was one odd thing we had in common.

although we are sensitive to sound we enjoy loud music! can anyone relate?

My music taste is quite varied, but to sum it up, I love rock music - especially post-rock, prog/experimental rock, and a bit of shoegaze here and there. I also love ambient, some IDM, and a bit of classical.

And I like to listen to my music loud too!

Not much of a fan myself. I don't like or dislike anything specific.

It's just the rhythm and patterns itself that made me listen more, not much with the words of lyrics nor the genre nor the 'type' of music alone made me listen for more.
So it mattered a little to me how loud or soft the music is, or who made it and what it conveys.

I think I do have the same knack for music -- replaying, distinguishing, and able to edit them in my head. Yet, it's not one of my interests nor am interested to pursue it.

I also enjoy loud music! I can definitely relate to that.
For me, the types of music I enjoy are; mostly 80s new wave, and 80s synthpop! With some other types, too. My favorite bands are Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, New Order, Malice Mizer, OMD,The Sisters Of Mercy, The Who, The B52s, and others.

I like classic rock, rock-n-roll, doo-wopp, classical, some pop.

I don't like it when there's only one instrument, and one melody.

I listened to a 90s station recently, and liked that music better than 80s music. 80s music seems, at times, to be droning along......

Although I'm a bit of an oldie nowadays, I like listening to modern pop music. Well, some of it.
I was never into rap music, but something about the way modern pop melds elements of rap in with more traditional vocals is appealing, as is the way electronic is mixed with traditional instrumental.
I guess it's all new patterns to play with?

But I love classical, too, there's pieces by Bach and Haydn I can listen to over and over.

The band has finished laying down tracks for their next album. It's for sure happening.

I like classic rock, 90's alternative and 60's pop also but New Wave/Synthpop/postpunk is my fave.

I sometimes have their Aenima album on repeat in my car. Love it.

Currently liking Fall Out Boy. They're playing in my area of the country (though too far for me to get to) tomorrow night. I wish they were playing at a different venue!
