it is common among people who can lucidly dream which is a tiny minority of all people. I've tried the various things suggested to be able to lucidly dream but all for naught. it is said that the inability to be suggestible is one thing associated with an inability to lucidly dream, and I've never been successfully hypnotized either.

I've always had incredibly visual and vivid dreams, sometimes to the point that they are somewhat lucid. As far as NTs go, I've noticed the more sociable/extroverted the person is or if the person has a rather "normal" upbringing/life (no health/mental issues, no family issues, has a stable household, etc.) the less they tend to dream. It's highly probable that this is coincidental though, I'm just recalling it now because it's another reason I've always felt like an outlier to the average NT.

I mostly dream of:-

Going on high, fast rollercoasters
Driving a car and losing control of it
People bullying me
Lashing out in public then regretting it
Being back at school with my old school 'friends'
Missing the bus several times in one day
Provoking teenagers then being chased by them
Going out without any clothes on
Being in a swimming-pool
Death of a loved one
My boyfriend falling out of love with me
My house falling down
Dogs trying to bite me
Running in frustratingly slow-motion
Being near loud bells
Being out alone at night in a big city
Being in a confined space with spiders

Kip,

I have been to Santa Barbara a number of times.

My most recent travel destination in a dream was Russia. I guess it had something to do with Denis Istomin.
