t's generally considered impolite to call someone out for their dishonesty. We're supposed to pretend it never happened.

there are degrees between "I believe you're mistaken" and

"Liar!. Liar!....LIIIIAAARE" - Princess Bride

The delivery is everything. Best done in private, and in a not-very-judgmental way. Just point out that you think the truth is different from what you heard.

People don't like being exposed, especially when the truth negatively impacts them. At the same time... I don't find it worthwhile to allow perpetual liars to continue unchecked; sometimes you just have to yell "BS!" and call them on it.

I agree. Calling people on their lies, especially if done publicly (unlike what pakled recommended) can embarrass the liar and give them more of an incentive to be honest in the future.

If I find that somone lied I let them know I know. Most commonly bt being very sarcastic, I enjoy giving people the thought that I see all. My young brother is easy to catch on, he asks 'how di you know that', I usualy reply 'I can read your mind'.

People is generally NOT amused with having their (to them) perfect lies revealed. Somehow i sometimes i am able to spot lies with surprisingly big accuracy and other timem i am totally blindfolded.

It is definitely not horrible. It would be horrible not to tell them. Lying intentionally itself is one of the most horrible things that someone could do and telling someone that they lied is the least you could do to make sure this terrible covering of the truth is abolished.

I always tell people if I think they're lieing. Sometimes they calmly deny it, sometimes they admit it and sometimes they yell and get really mad. Although, I believe that exposing the truth is important and if I know someone is lieing I wont let them get away with it.

of course understanding why they lied is important. If they dont have a good reason tell them in a humourus way so you also might come across as smart and funny.

Compulsive liars always say "what sounds good". And calling them a liar doesn't sound good.

I don't quite understand. I wasn't being sarcastic. I always use the appropriate emoticon for sarcasm.
