Jk1, we just spend a lot of time chatting about random nonsense. We don't worry if it is related to the thread title or not (at least, in a selection of these threads). Come in and join us, and you will soon boost your post count.

Oh yes, I should mention that We Love Kip. Just so we don't forget which thread we are in. :P

Since this one is another random thread, I'd like to add that Jehovah's Witnesses rang my doorbell. I always bid them welcome. I even took the trouble to offer them tea. (They sneer at coffee.) We had an interesting conversation, but I said to them that I have absolutelutely no intention to join them. They understood. From my Protestant way of seeing these things, they are fundamentally on the wrong path. Who knows. Maybe I am the last protestant monk.

hospitable Krab. what kind of tea?

i pass by a Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall (i think that's what they're called?) every day to and from school. the street there is rather narrow, the occasional events there + parent's rush to drop off their progeny, i have to be real nimble on my bike on a street packed with cars.

I still can't believe that Krabo invites Jehovah's Witnesses in for tea.

Why don't you hide from them and pretend you're not there, like a normal person? :P

On the bright side I now know that Krabo has tea in his house. :D

they come here pretty often here.

once, mom, being a 'normal person', said she was about to give the dog a bath (she was carrying her) so they would leave.

i'm awful at lying, and we had just given the dog a bath a few minutes before, i said, "but we just did!"

she wasn't happy. and i think they heard. some other people, might be them, like to distribute pocket New Testaments in front of schools too.

Our state-owned Channel TV2 is showing these old Moomin episodes. I have a particular person in mind who would pay fortunes to be in Finland right now.

You called?

Is that the proper old ones (not the more modern Japanese ones)?

Original clumsy animations, with Swedish captions. You would love them. I think they are from the 1970s.

There is a method to watch Finnish TV on the net but I don't know how it goes.

You probably have to do something very technical, and then pay for it.

Never mind, at least there is youtube. What did people do before youtube?

JK1, where are you from? Asia, perhaps?

^ You might need to PM him. Or track him down in the 'random' thread. He tends not to come back to threads once they descend into chatting.

Oh, ok.

By the way, I am resorting to this kind of thingy to open my cans and bottles. I cannot say how I landed that deep.

Handy. I am just glad that wine comes in screwtop bottles now. I remember nights being frustrated to tears because I was not strong enough to pull the cork out of the bottle.

More than once it got pushed in, as a last resort.

There is a trick. Just hit the bottle bottom with your elbow.
