There is a deep spring inside of us,

a vast silence like the desert.

Here, in this space.

Dadirri

Time and timelessness,

peace in silent awareness.

I listen and wait.

We watch the seasons come and go,

watch the moon wax and wane,

wait for the fruit to ripen,

watch our children grow,

sit with our grief.

Silence is our gift,

we welcome it,

call upon it,

and it calls us.

Listen, watch, wait,

this will determine what we are to do.

Quiet, gentle, strong, patient.

Walk slowly and with purpose.

Being still brings peace and understanding.

Dadirri

a stronger peace than mindfulness.

A deep peace,

grounded, over aeons.

Dadirri is the sap and strong roots of the tree,

it is the flow of the river,

the sunrise and the sunset.

Deep respect for all things,

and their ways

of being, knowing, and doing.

Dadirri.

Just reading those words gives me a great sense of peace.
Thank you.

So good to see you dear Booyakasha. How's your lovely daughter?

Where's Raleigh?

Aw, nice to see you too! :)

She's now in the new daycare, being happy and so I'm happy! Thanks for asking. How have you been?

Raleigh was for some time exploring mountains, then he was back, but then the doc scared him yesterday by mentioning second cancer. He hasn't posted since :(

OK here thanks, just so sorry for the folk in the path of evil Irma - many islands devastated. I hope Raleigh will rally (no pun intended) and let us know how he's doing.

So glad your little one's happy at the daycare. It's nice when they are well run by someone who really cares for kids.

he's back now :D

And yes, I'm happy too, especially since previous daycares were horrible...although I'll miss the little rascal since now that she'll be absent most of the day.

Look, the trees
are turning
their own bodies
into pillars

of light,
are giving off the rich
fragrance of cinnamon
and fulfillment,

the long tapers
of cattails
are bursting and floating away over
the blue shoulders

of the ponds,
and every pond,
no matter what its
name is, is

nameless now.
Every year
everything
I have ever learned

in my lifetime
leads back to this: the fires
and the black river of loss
whose other side

is salvation,
whose meaning
none of us will ever know.
To live in this world

you must be able
to do three things:
to love what is mortal;
to hold it

against your bones knowing
your own life depends on it;
and, when the time comes to let it
go, to let it go.
