I think Weird Al’s songs all started as mis-heard lyrics and he just then Runs with it.

Like “Eat It”.

One song for years I really thought was repeating “Judy’s only skinny” I later realized was “Beauty’s only skin-deep”.

in the mungo jerry song "in the summertime" there is a lyric, "a ton, a ton and twenty-five" meaning a hundred, a hundred-twenty-five." i misconstrued it somehow as "the toilet-training five."

From "Cain and Abel," I came up with "Ayn and Cable", a hard-hitting '90s graphic novel by Manc Friller in which Deadpool's old partner teams up with the author of "Atlas Shrugged."

here are a couple of spoonerisms for you:
1. Tease my ears = Ease my tears
2. Lumpy custard = Clumpy mustard
3. Original: "Let it be" (The Beatles)
Spoonerism: "Bet it lee"
4. Original: "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin.
Spoonerism: "Hairway to Stephen"

Someone once said:
I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy?

(I guess if it was a bottle of ginger ale I would agree)

Dr. Randy Hanzlick MD sang it in a song:

Your citation is from the 1980s.

First time in print cited as:
1965 book “World Visions and the Image of Man: Cosmologies as Reflections of Man” by Carlton W. Berenda who was a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Oklahoma

(Though possibly coined by Steve Allen as part of his stand up act before that)

“You have a half-warmed fish in your head" instead of "you have a half-formed wish in your head"

"It is kisstomary to cuss the bride" instead of "it is customary to kiss the bride"

I'm old enough that I've never really accepted the original "Wah Stores" film being renamed "A Hugh Nope."

my fave came from the good rev. spooner himself, in front of an audience with queen victoria, where he toasted her with "three cheers for our queer old dean!"
