Just bought one of these after reading your post.

What two IMPORTANT things happened in American life in the summer of 1947?

One was...when Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in pro baseball.

The other was when private pilot Kenneth Arnold saw what he described as "flying saucers" over Idaho.

Before Jackie Robinson was accepted into the Brooklyn Dodgers (thus breaking the color barrier) he was in a segregated all Black team in the Negro Leagues called the "Philadelphia Grays". Actually the team was shared by Phillie and Washington DC. It also had Roy Campanella.

AND...what is the most common race of space aliens that folks report encountering these days?

"the Grays".

The Grays. And the Phillie Grays.

Coincidence?

Thats what Hollywood was all about during the pre color film days. The monochromatic scale of gray.
