Long Island Art Exhibit Features Works of Students With Autism
Quote:
A new art exhibit featuring the creative works of Long Island students with autism that opened this week is helping raise funds for nonprofit groups raising awareness of the issue.
The exhibit, titled “Perspective,” reportedly features 70 pieces from students in 10 schools across Nassau and Suffolk counties. It opened Tuesday and runs through Sunday at the nonprofit Art League of Long Island in Dix Hills. A reception is scheduled for 1-3 p.m. Saturday.
“Showcasing the positive rather than the negative,” is the goal of the exhibit, according to its organizers.
