I thought lack of co-ordination and AS went hand in hand

I played baseball and basketball growing up and I wasn't too coordinated. My throw was ALWAYS off. I wasnt too good at batting either.

I was better at basketball. Much easier game to play since it is constant in motion, unlike baseball which is so stagnant, that all of the sudden a single slip up hurts too much......where as a fumble in basketball doesn't give up much.

I've heard this (I think it's described as "lack of motor skills"), but I'm not sure what it means. Personally, I was always fairly good at sports, but I had a tendency as a child to walk into things, trip over my own feet, drop things, etc, more than your average child. Still do if I'm not being mindful. Seems contradictory, but it's apparently not because here I am.

I was an awkward runner growing up, which was too bad because I could run fairly fast. Playing end in football was a strength in sandlot games in my early 20s because I also had soft hands.

At the batting cages, I could hit the slow speeds (40-50 MPH) both ways (I'm a natural righty)

I never could catch a ball, though as lightening020 said, basketball worked better for me.

I do practice a lot of yoga which is slow and consistent, once I learn how to position myself, I do quite well.

I got better as time went on. I was always a decent athlete (supposedly) I just didn't have that killer instinct that is needed to be a good player. I was never the aggressive type.

I am atrocious at team sports, but can perform adequately in running and swimming. I am also rather good at the more first-class sports such as golf, tennis/squash and badminton (providing I am working solely by myself). But, I do abstain playing any form of sports due to clumsiness, thus I am usually lampooned when playing Sport.

Typically they go hand in hand.. to have better co-ordination, people should consider trying a peaceful martial art like T'ai Ji (which I've done).. I found my coordination was much better.
