^Yes, that is one of the positive sides with exercise. The fact that you can relax with a good conscience afterwards :P :D

Well, I just ran another half-marathon earlier today... 2nd time this week... Did little for my conscience, though... so either my conscience was already clean, or I am beyond moral redemption

... I'll definitely take the relaxation, though... I abruptly fell asleep in front of my PC about an hour ago...

I'm now seriously considering going for a full marathon... I know there is no health benefit from doing so, so it's exclusively for bragging rights...

Yes I would definitely think it has a relaxing effect doing that much (cardio?)! I mostly work on strengthning the muscles so it doesn't have much of that effect.

I can understand the motivation to try a full marathon, if so just to prove to oneself that you can do it. How would you go about it, I mean you would work gradually somehow towords it, right?

There are several training programmes available... many serious sports stores have step-by-step instructions...

In my case - since I'm already comfortable running half-marathons with relatively short intervals - I have probably already built up the general musculoskeletal strength and cardio-vascular conditioning necessary to run the marathon distance...

... the challenge is now how to prepare myself with proper rest and energy reserves for the trip so I don't "hit the wall" during the run... I may have to start eating pasta again 8O... Oh, and I need to find approx. 5 hours of decent weather... which is becoming somewhat more difficult as autumn has finally arrived...

I hope working out will help with my anxiety, it usually helps a little.

I've been working out 3-4 days a week since going back to school and I do feel like it makes me more calm and less anxious. I was the leanest I ever been before starting so I do feel like I am seeing results already in putting on some muscle, I never really lifted before this and I think I have a pretty good frame for it. My body looks completely different than it did a few years, at least 50lbs lighter.

That's great Mr. J! I hope to get back to doing something here myself soon after this homework lets up. Won't be able to do my usual stuff cause my shoulder never got back to normal. I don't want any surgery so the kind of push-ups I was doing are probably out.

Stuff on the treadmill, usually.

Thinking about getting into yoga, too.

I do exercises to strengthen the muscles in mainly the neck, back, stomach, sholders, bum and thighs :)
I have beginning problems with my back, so fear of pain in the future is my main motivation.

Due a workout with the weights, sit ups, squats and bicycle kicks tomorrow or the day after to hit two for a week, usually do three but not if my body feels like it needs some extra rest. Had two jogs this week and a good three mile stroll earlier so that side is good too.
