Hi everyone,

I'm currently trying to work up the courage to tell my parents that I've been questioning my gender identity for months. It basically feels like I'm an AMAB trans girl, and Rachel is a name I like the sound of. I've told a few friends, but if I really want to get serious about transitioning, I need to tell my parents. I know they'll be supportive of me - they always have, and they're both allies of the LGBT+ community, but I'm still scared. Then there's the whole issue of coming out at high school, which really terrifies me. What do I do?

Rachel

I'd say: either just come out to your parents do it no matter how scared you are or accept that your not ready to come out yet and have the confidence that you will come out when you're ready to so.

If you tell your parents you can get a gender therapist and he/she and you parents can support you and help you decide with what to do at school.

Coming out is a slow process. When you feel that you are ready to come out, you will know that you are ready.
