Mainstream pop, electronic music, and experimental music.
When I say mainstream pop, I am effectively giving a "blanket" term for all of the styles of mainstream pop from about 2006 onward, since I would recognize the names of the mainstream bands of that era, from hearing about them at high school or college. Essentially, anything from Soulja Boy to Ke$ha to Taylor Swift and anything in between.
My issue with hating "country" music is that it's a huge genre. There's been a bevy great underground alt-country/americana stuff in the past two decades. Also, lots of the early country, like Jimmie Rodgers, is amazing. But if we look at what people call "country" now, it's nothing like what's been called country in the past. Just soft rock with cowboy hats, as someone described it previously - it's about accurate.
