Oh no... I'm skinny with a very hairy chest... the worst of both worlds?

Not necessarily, as I said the current younger generation seems to like skinny men. Not sure what things are like where you live but a lot of young men I know now shave their chest, legs, underarms and forearms, so perhaps if you are skinny and shave your chest things will even out.

Oddly enough so many young men I worked with shaved their forearms and even my chiropractor did so as a woman I was feeling suddenly overly hairy and started shaving my own forearms. This is a weird new society we are creating.

Dude... 6'2" and 155 pounts is "not attractive"? Since when?

6'2", 155 is fairly skinny for a guy -- like "hip bones stick out when you lay down on the bed" skinny.

Hah, my ex/guyfriend is 6' 2", 135lbs. Somehow, it works for him.

I am about 6'4 to 6'6 and weigh 140-145 pounds. I've had no luck. I'm can't guess what women want.

I'm sure that someone likes that somewhere, but generally, that's really skinny. You should probably have another 30-40 pounds on that frame, mostly muscle. I see by your age that you are still very young though, and haven't hit the 2nd round of "weight gain" years yet. I went from 160 to 200 from age 18-22. I think you'll fill out pretty quickly -- but if it bugs you, get a weight lifting regimen together, and start taking in protein shakes first thing in the morning, and first thing at night.

I recommend this book from Stuart McRobert -- he's a strong advocate of not overtraining, which is a big problem for most of us hard-gainers. If you weren't a hard-gainer, you'd probably be muscular by now. Most of us have a hard time putting on or keeping on muscle, while a genetically gifted few put it on easily, even when they are doing everything wrong. You don't want to get weight lifting advice from someone like that, because their advice can hurt you and set you back, even though it works for them.

Guys can also build more muscle weight by paying attention to their hormone levels and not lowering their testosterone. A lot of guys just don't understand certain foods lower their testosterone level such as fatty meats, milk, eggs and soy. Guys are already facing an uphill battle because of all the excessive Estrogen in the water supply and plastic food and water containers. People also don't know that extreme overtraining where the testosterone builds up to a certain level and then it will convert into estrogen. So there is truth in not overtraining. (The way to detect this short of a bloodtest is when bodybuilders suddenly start getting real bitchy and moody its a sign they are making too much estrogen). Also guys with extremely overactive thyroids, ie: the tall skinny guys with bulging eyes and adams apple will end up estrogen dominate eventually. You have to dig deeply into endrocrinology texts to find out this sort of info. I'm a endrocrine system fanatic so its just some of the weird trivia I have remembered over the years.

I agree. Me too. Although not muscular guys, I don't like men who workout and have overly-developed muscles, ew. But fairly athletic and trim but not over the top, yes.

If you get to know a guy and like his personality and who he is, then those other things grow on you, like the first time I had a relationship with a guy who was quite hirsuit, had a very hairy chest, when previously I'd dated bare chested guys. At first I was a bit unsure, didn't particularly like it, but then it grew on me, I mean I grew to like it. But then later, after we'd broken up, and I ended up in a relationship with a different guy who had a bare chest again, I liked that too. Likewise going from skinny to athletic to podgy with lovehandles. Yeah, it was nice that a guy had a firm body and peachy bum, but then again, a different partner, had lovely squidgy lovehandles. And I've been in relationships with guys who are very handsome, but others who were more average looking. If you like them as a person, you like the package they come in, whatever shape or size or 'flaws'.

It really, truly matters less what they look like, and more what kind of person they are. In fact, some of the really handsome guys can be arrogant @rseholes. Some of the more average looking guys can be more genuine, less superficial people.

Personally speaking, I like guys who are intelligent, preferably who read and are interested in the arts and are a bit outdoorsy but not too much extreme sports-like, preferably someone who's interest in current affairs and politics and social justice, who have a good sense of humour and sense of fun so we can enjoy one another's company, and I'm a sucker for a guy with an altruistic streak, so I'd probably be more inclined to date a guy who, say, was a bike riding environmental or humanitarian charity worker (so fairly low paid) as opposed to a high earning engineer or executive working in the oil industry who drives a Hummer (in fact I'd be more inclined not to date a man who projected his status through a car).

Although, of course, having said all that, a millionaire philanthropist would be the best of both worlds!

Seriously though, if it was a choice between a wealthy corporate lawyer who drove a BMW, but was very materialistics and self-centred, or a campaigning journalist (journalism pays a lot less than corporate law) who reported on homelessness and poverty and child trafficking or something, and I clicked with them both in terms of getting on with them and enjoying their company, then it would be absolutely no contest I'd go for the lower paid but altruistic guy.

Wealth is not just measured in terms of $$$$$ y'know. There are other ways of leading a rich and fulfilling life.

LOL soy contains estrogen, it's highly recommended for menopausal women

what you need is protein, not testosterone anyway. and don't take steroids, they make your testicles disappear 8O

I love a hairy chest with nice curly hair on it. And if he is wearing a gold charm necklace.....huge turn on for me! 8)
I am in my mid twenties and all of the young women I know seem to prefer the hairless look. I don't know why, really. I would not want to be with a guy who was naturally hairless or shaved it off. I think this may be one of the reasons I am attracted to middle aged, Mediterranean men.......they have nice hairy chests and are not afraid to show them.

Well, not all of us Mediterranean men have hairy chests, even at middle age. Jacob of "Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob" for example: "And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man", Genesis 27:11. This was said while Isaac was dying of old age, so Jacob would have been middle-aged.
