Is it because... cooking fancy things for your S.O. is romantic?
Is it because... the way to a girls heart is through her stomach?
Is it because... having a man who can cook better than you gives you a great excuse to avoid the kitchen work? ("Oh, but honey, i burn everything. Maybe you should cook tonight  ")

Or even other reasons.
Let's hear some details.

Discuss :) .

(I hadn't seen a topic on this yet, and i was incredibly bored =D)

I know I get rave reviews from those who eat what I cook. Hell, I managed to get a vegan to eat meat just because it smelled so good. She has since converted herself to a more or less everything diet.

I think how I manage to cook so well is due to the fact I can accurately think what the resulting combo of beat, veg, spices and whatnot would end up tasting like.

You do realize that single males by definition generally do not have S.O.s?

I can cook if I want to, but I usually don't. My tastebuds are weird, I took some medication when I was a kid that had the side effect of permanently changing my tastebuds. Therefore what I like may not match most other people, so my cooking for someone else may not be a great idea.

S.O. can stand for anything :P

in that particular case, i guess i'll have it stand for "Silent octopus" :chin:
Octupussies eat anything, right?

Maybe try perfecting a few more tasty recipes? Bring some in to work every so often and show off your skills to the ladies?
I'm sure you'll have them "eating" out of your hand in no time :P .

Congratulations, Sean. That is the hugest, most wordy poll I have ever seen on this board to date  .

As for me, I am ok at cooking I guess. I am dyspraxic though so I dont enjoy it as much as I could, sometimes I do it, but I prefer to prepare simple things...

My boyfriend is a chef, so I get pretty spoilt by him...

When I still had a TV I used to spend a lot of time watching the Food Network. I developed an intrest in BBQ and, purchased an electronic smoker. I learned to create my own dry rubs and BBQ sauce. I don't use my smoker all the time but, if I'm not BBQing I'm grilling. I don't have a huge repitor of dishes but, what I can make I do an awesome job.

Thank you for pointing you the obvious, honestly thank you sooo much, this really needed to be called attention to, i was afraid people would actually pay so much attention to the main topic of this thread and that they'd miss my last line. Truly sir, you've done us all a great favor, no....an honor, in responding to the one part of the post that had nothing to do with anything :) .
Can i shake your hand?
*slaps self* wait no...of course not, i am not worthy :x .

I can cook quite well, learned from my dad who was a professional chef for many years and has a degree in the culinary arts, and my fiancee loves my cooking prowess.

She is not a bad cook herself, but she insists I am better and loves it when I have dinner waiting for her when she gets home. Occasionally I'll make it a surprise candle lit dinner, which she just gushes about without end and tells all her girlfriends who then do the customary "awwwwww!"
